Limited or Unlimited. Scale Narrowly or Scale Widely

 by Marc Caccavale

What if you had the ability to sell your product to every form of organization that exists? How many clients could you obtain? The answer is as many clients as there are organizations. Not every organization will do business with you, the fact that every one of them could is significant. Facebook is a free service and available to everyone, everywhere(except in totalitarian countries). However, Facebook, while being free and available to everyone, is not subscribed to by everyone

A reason for this is that Facebook has specific audiences, specific users or client types. While these audiences have different characteristics, they encompass a segment, not the total population. Facebook, being limited in what it offers, can only scale to the extent that their specific user types exist. The same can be said of most software products/applications that are available in the marketplace. They are naturally limited to specific audiences. Their ability to scale and serve multiple audiences is limited by their very nature.

The result of this reality causes consumers to seek and source multiple solutions for multiple needs, both business and personal. Think about it.
