Small and Large / Impacts / Implications

 by Marc Caccavale

Small organizations struggle with this reality far more than larger, well-financed, or revenue producing institutions. Think about the cost of a gallon of milk. If the cost of a gallon of milk doubles from $2.75 to $5.50 who struggles with this cost increase more? The family with an annual income of $250,000 or the family with an annual income of $50,000? Clearly the latter.

The same is true of organizations. An organization with thousands of employees, revenues in multiples of millions, even billions with personnel to delegate tasks to is more capable of absorbing increased costs, voluntarily or involuntarily forced on them. Conversely, an organization with ten employees and significantly lower revenue cannot entertain or utilize resources in the same way as a larger one can.

What if it were possible for the smaller organizations to have access to the same technological and data power resources that larger organizations have at a cost commensurate with their size and scope? This would be a true game changer. Think about it.
